“[T]here’s no better time to answer the dual burning questions “What can Morrissey’s unfiltered utterances teach me?” and “Man, how cool would it be to drive an ice cream truck?

Best Local Psychic | Sra. Lupe: You can keep Googling “dream interpretation websites” until you find one that looks more legitimate than a mid-90s Geocities homepage (which you won’t), and you can harass your friends to analyze your fortune cookies every time you get takeout (which they won’t). Or you can call a professional who guarantees results.

'We Take Our Children To Ireland'
By Lynne McMahon
Aside: I’m reading a poetry compilation right now. Which is why I keep posting poems on here.
What will they remember best? The barbed wire
still looped around the Belfast airport,
the building-high Ulster murals—
but those were fleeting, car window sights,
more likely the turf fires lit each night,
the cups of tea their father brought
and the buttered...

Life In 95 Minutes: Ridley Scott's New Documentary... →
Macdonald and Scott asked YouTube users to record their lives on one day, July 24, 2010, in hopes of getting enough responses to pull togetether a feature-length film illustrating the human experience. Inspired by the World War II-era social archive project Mass Observation, their guidelines were simple: tell us your story, tell us what you love and fear, and show us what’s in your...

In “Muskrats,” Milgrim, a recovering drug addict, and retired rock star Hollis Henry—characters from Gibson’s 2007 novel Spook Country—primarily discuss fashion while snacking on croissants. Maybe not what you’d expect from the guy known for his visionary writings on the information age, but in Zero History (which John Bowker reviewed after its release...

People speak too narrowly when they talk of Catch-22 as a satire of humanity....
– Ron Rosenbaum, “Seeing Catch-22 Twice”
'To My Twenties'
by Kenneth Koch
How lucky that I ran into you
When everything was possible
For my legs and arms, and with hope in my heart
And so happy to see any woman—
O woman! O my twentieth year!
Basking in you, you
Oasis from both growing and decay
Fantastic, unheard of nine- or ten-year oasis
A palm tree, hey! And then another
And another—and water!
I’m still very impressed by...

Need the protective film peeled off a touch-screen device? Need a handshake in a north London train station? Need your name written on a notebook page and put in a drawer? Need a “thoroughly hideous” logo designed for your company?
Need those services performed by a British “laptop-pop artist*”?
Of course you do.
*excuse the phrase-pilfering; Pitchfork’s Tom...
